This week we participated in the Qatar IT Conference, which focused on Smart Cities. Qatar is undergoing continuous urban transformation and is now preparing for the organization of the World Cup, which is going to take place very soon!
AI is changing the world, today we have learned more about the advances that are being made thanks to AI, from the CEO of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker. This airline uses Artificial Intelligence to improve its operations and efficiency and to increase the number of customers.
Attending the “CYBER SECURITY WEEK 2019” has been a great experience for me. I have been able to work with international experts from different law enforcement agencies and top level research centres. At the event I have learned a great deal about advances in this field.
It has been a pleasure for me to present a key note at the 7th International Engineering Sciences and Technology Conference (IESTEC), held in Panama. I met with some of my former PhD students there, they now lead a research group and conduct outstanding projects at the Technological University of Panama.
Today I gave the plenary session on AI, Blockchain and Edge Computing for Industrial Predictive Maintenance, at the “9th Workshop on Service Oriented, Holonic and Multi-agent Manufacturing Systems for Industry of the Future (SOHOMA19)” held at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Qatar is all set for its World Cup matches. Its stadiums are nearly ready and so are the communication infrastructures and the metro. Many Spanish companies and many Spaniards are involved in these preparations.
During the International Conference on Case-Based Reasoning (ICCBR) held in Otzenhausen, Germany, I had the opportunity to attend some informative and exceptionally stimulating talks concerning Explainable AI (XAI), the theme of ICCBR 2019.
