Disruptive technologies, an excellent support for agri-food companies

Vitartis, the Food Industry Association of Castilla y León, in collaboration with the Ebro Valley Food Cluster food+i, has organised a webinar under the title “Industrial application of IIoT and Data Analytics”. At this webinar, experts in IoT and Data Analytics have presented nine success stories on how these technologies have generated more competitive business models.

Juan Manuel Corchado, director of the BISITE Research Group and president of the AIR Institute, participated in the conference, in which he highlighted the importance of the application of disruptive technologies in the industrial and food sectors, as well as shared some of the projects we are developing in these areas.

One such example is Expand Intelwines, a project developed by the AIR Institute and the IoT Digital Innovation Hub in collaboration with the Pago de Carraovejas winery, thanks to the European initiative EXPAND SmartAgriHubs, for the development and implementation of new artificial intelligence techniques in the wine production process, to support decision-making and improve food safety.

Agri-food companies face the challenge of meeting the increasingly complex demands of consumers, while at the same time increasing control over the quality and origin of products. All these changes and trends would not be possible without the digital transformation of the industry. This is why this digital meeting was held within the framework of the DIGIDAT project, a Vitartis initiative to promote the implementation of digitalisation projects in the food industry and to provide its corporations with the tools needed to accelerate innovation and increase competitiveness through the application of data analysis technologies.
