BISITE Group has participated in the II Congress on Digital Security and Cyberintelligence C1b3rWall. An event that brought together more than 4000 people to the National Police School of Avila from 21 to 23 June.

Juan Manuel Corchado, director of BISITE Research Group attended the event along with colleagues Yeray Mezquita and Sergio Márquez who were part of the more than 170 speakers who participated in this event.

BISITE has collaborated in organizing C1b3rWall Academy 2021 and we will do it again in the next course that will start in September. It is an excellent initiative whose main objective is to promote cybersecurity training and all those technologies that converge in this field. We have specialists in the field and, therefore, we have developed several projects such as DeepSIEM, a platform for cybersecurity management based on artificial intelligence.

Cybersecurity, AI and Blockchain

Yeray Mezquita, Blockchain expert at BISITE, participated in the congress with a presentation entitled “Blockchain technology as a means of securing and tracing information”. In it, he shared with the attendees the basic concepts underpinning this technology. In addition, he explained how this technology makes it possible to keep the stored information immutable, and how it is possible to identify the author of this information. He also discussed the possibilities offered by this technology beyond the field of cryptocurrencies and its validity as forensic evidence in many cases.

Sergio Márquez gave a presentation entitled “Industry 4.0 and IoT – A new challenge for efficient and secure data management”. In which the basic principles of IoT, the different platforms and applications that currently exist were discussed. In addition to an analysis of the different IoT devices, as well as security applied to the world of IoT.

This event has exceeded all expectations, so we hope you will join us again in the next C1b3rWall Academy course starting in September 2022.

Juan Manuel Corchado (15 de Mayo de 1971, Salamanca, España) Catedrático en la Universidad de Salamanca. Ha sido Vicerrector de Investigación desde el 2013 hasta el 2017 y Director del Parque Científico de la Universidad de Salamanca. J. M. Corchado ha sido presidente de la asociación IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics, y coordinador académico del Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Arte y Tecnología de la Animación de la Universidad de Salamanca e investigador en las Universidades de Paisley (UK), Vigo (Spain) y en el Plymouth Marine Laboratory (UK). En la actualidad compagina toda su actividad con la dirección de los programas de Máster en Seguridad, Animación Digital, Telefonía Movil, Dirección de Sistemas de Información, Internet de las Cosas, Social Media, Diseño e Impresión 3D, Blockchain, Z System, Industria 4.0, Gestión de Proyectos Ágiles y Smart Cities & Intelligent Buildings​, en la Universidad de Salamanca y su trabajo como editor jefe de las revistas ADCAIJ (Advances in Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence Journal), OJCST (Oriental Journal of Computer Science and Technology) o Electronics MDPI (Computer Science & Engineering section). J. M. Corchado desarrolla principalmente trabajos en proyectos relacionados con Inteligencia Artificial, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, Fog Computing, Edge Computing, Smart Cities, Smart Grids y Análisis de sentimiento.
