This morning we had the opportunity to show MEP Luis Garicano, the latest advances in some of the projects we are developing at the BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca and the AIR Institute.
During this meeting, our group, led by Juan Manuel Corchado, presented our different platforms and described in detail of some of the tools we are currently developing in fields such as intelligent textiles or bio informatics.

The MEP has shown great interest in our projects, in some especially, such as DeepNGS, which we are developing in collaboration with the Institute for Biomedical Research of Salamanca. Solutions such as DEEPNGS Next Generation Sequencing allow for the rapid analysis of genomic data, providing explicit and complete information thanks to Cloud Computing. Thus, this software incorporates the latest advances in Biomedicine and is capable of analyzing data from different sources in many formats, ranging from complete sequencing files to clinical reports.

Meetings like this are very valuable for research groups because they help them to bring their work closer to political agents and make them aware of the research that can help general progress. In short, this is an excellent opportunity to bring science closer to those who can favor its development by investing in high-quality, innovative projects.
