On the 2nd of March an awards ceremony was held in order to deliver prizes to the participants of the 2017 Edition of the competition “Desafío Universidad Empresa” (Company-University Challenge), which is organized by the University-Company Knowledge Transfer Program. Its objective is to strengthen the link between universities and the business environment and in this way to reflect the knowledge of educative institutions in the economy of Castile and Leon. This program has made it possible to incorporate numerous ideas to our business fabric and implies the creation of 23 new technology-based businesses in the University environment.
At this ceremony, the BISITE Research Group has been awarded in the general category for its proposal: “Assessing the quality of beef cattle carcasses in the slaughterhouse,” which was performed in collaboration with Ganadería Charolesa. In addition, one of the members of this Project has been awarded in the category “Innovative Business Idea” for this project “HandY: a bionic configurable hand prosthesis.
The presented ideas and Project demonstrate the innovative potential of our universities. I would like to give my sincere congratulations to all the participants, especially to the members of the BISITE Group, of which I am the director, for their effort and work.
