Countless scientific studies have intended to explain the functioning of genetic coding. Scientists from the Institute of Genomic and Functional Biology (IBFG, University of Salamanca/CSIC) were among many but they have just identified a new level of information in the DNA sequence. This discovery, which was recently published by the scientific journal “Genome Research”, has been developed in the laboratory of Eukaryotic Genome Functional Organization, directed by Francisco Antequera, research professor from the CSIC, in collaboration with Luis Quintales, full professor of Computer Language and Systems in the USAL. This is fantastic news and fills the university community with pride. You can read more on this topic here.
