The present and the future of technology research

The V Forum of Experts and Young Researchers in New Technologies gives new researchers the ability to present their research material.

This was a special occasion since I conducted the inauguration from the Undergraduate Hall of the Faculty of Computer Sciences at the Technological University of Malysia, Johor Bahru campus. Present at the other end of the ceremony, held at the Faculty of Law at the University of Salamanca, were my colleagues Vice Dean Fernando Carbajo and Federico Bueno de Mata. As Fernando stated during the event, what better way could there be to open such a technological forum than to use tools such as Skype which, while relatively simple, are facilitating the lives of so many on both a professional and personal level. This year’s edition includes such fundamental and interesting topics as data protection, digital advocacy, research and cybercrime. There were 65 young panelists (45 physically present and 20 virtually present) of more than 10 nationalities (Argentina, Mexico, Chile…) and more than 30 institutions, including Spanish and foreign universities.
