I would like to congratulate one of the BISITE members, Alfonso González Briones who received the second prize sponsored by Sensors, I SENSORS+CIRTI Award for the best national thesis on Smart Cities at the Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAEPIA), which had been held in Granada in October.
We have been fortunate enough to have Professor Oshima and his colleagues visit our group. We’ve been working with them on interesting research projects that employ novel technology for indoor positioning.
The Dream Go project continues to make progress. Different countries, including USA, Germany, Portugal and Spain, have developed numerous systems as part of this project and we are already working on integrating them.
The Dream Go project, in which our BISITE Research Group is involved, has been selected for the JCR report, which includes the results and objectives of Smart Grid-related projects within the Member States of the European Union.
Our BISITE Grupo participated in the Local Hack Day, which took place on the 1st of December and was organized by the Association of Computing Machines (ACM) of the University of Salamanca. This is a worldwide hackathon that gathers many ideas, projects and a lot of imagination.
Big cities like Moscow or Singapore, are undertaking changes and promoting and accelerating their transformation to become exemplary smart cities. Some of their objectives include Security, Energetic Efficiency, improved traffic management, etc.
I had the pleasure of participating as a speaker at the Seminar in Valladolid, organized by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castile and Leon (ICE), within the IOTEC project framework of the Interreg Spain-Portugal Program (POCTEP). At the event, we debated on the IoT and Blockchain as business drivers, exchanging ideas and information on these technologies.

The traditional approach to this subject is based on a protocol that combines training and the use of (PPE), short for, personal protective equipment, which refers to any device or means that can protect the worker from a hazard.
