This week we participated in the Qatar IT Conference, which focused on Smart Cities. Qatar is undergoing continuous urban transformation and is now preparing for the organization of the World Cup, which is going to take place very soon!
Qatar Petrolium has set up a large data analysis laboratory for the development of its connected industry. IoT is the very basis of their work and they are already developing their own IoT technology.
AI is changing the world, today we have learned more about the advances that are being made thanks to AI, from the CEO of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker. This airline uses Artificial Intelligence to improve its operations and efficiency and to increase the number of customers.
Attending the “CYBER SECURITY WEEK 2019” has been a great experience for me. I have been able to work with international experts from different law enforcement agencies and top level research centres. At the event I have learned a great deal about advances in this field.
I recently had the opportunity to work with Dr. Karamjit S Gill from AI and Society, at the University of Cambridge. Dr. Karamjit is Emeritus Professor at the University of Brighton, and is also a member of the Interdisciplinary Performance Research Network.
I would like to congratulate my colleagues at Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) for the extraordinary programme they have set in motion, called Artificial Intelligence for Societal Good Challenge.
The Qatar Foundation is possibly one of the best known foundations in the world because of the amount of funds it allocates to the development of sport, health, education, etc. This institution has countless departments and it is an honour for me to collaborate with it and participate in its project evaluation processes.
