AI and Machine Learning at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia

I had the opportunity to visit KFUPM University in Saudi Arabia. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals is a public research university in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and is ranked among the most prestigious institutions in the areas of science, engineering, business and management. It is an extraordinary institution with a large budget and phenomenal facilities. It is organized around interdisciplinary institutes and projects of great interest are being promoted there. I had the opportunity to give a master class on “AI/ML Applications, Future Directions, and Opportunities for Research Collaborations”.

We have also been working on the design of possible projects, which will hopefully become a reality soon. In the picture is my colleague Dr. Sami Elferik, Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics at KFUPM and the Dean of the College of Computing and Mathematics, Dr. ADEL FADHL NOOR AHMED.
