Juan Manuel Corchado participates in the GACETA Forum to discuss innovation and entrepreneurship in Castilla y León

The GACETA Forum “Salamanca in the world: more investment, innovation and entrepreneurship” took place this morning. An initiative organized by the newspaper La Gaceta de Salamanca with the aim of highlighting aspects of Salamanca’s economic expansion and opportunities for companies.

The meeting was moderated by the director of La Gaceta, Julián Ballestero and was held at the Casino de Salamanca, attended by Isidoro Alanís, president of Global Exchange; Eustaquio Andrés Sánchez, president of Grupo Andrés; and Juan Manuel Corchado Rodríguez, director of the BISITE Research Group and president of the AIR Institute.

In his speech, Corchado pointed to the importance of public institutions investing in the development of the region. He also insisted that traditional companies must embrace digitalization in order to stay afloat and even expand and reach other areas.

It has been an interesting event which was also attended by other local officials such as the Vice Chancellor for Research and Transfer of the University of Salamanca, José Miguel Mateos; the delegate of the Junta of Castilla y León in Salamanca, Eloy Ruiz Marcos or the vice-president of Global Exchange, Juan Antonio Alanís Marcos.

This kind of initiatives help to promote new ideas and strategies to improve the economy and opportunities in Salamanca and Castilla y León.
