Last week the final activities of the DISRUPTIVE project, of which the BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca is a member, have been carried out.

The Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE) in collaboration with the University of Valladolid and other members of the consortium, including CARTIF, the Higher Institute of Engineering of Porto, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Produtech and the BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca have organized the V Workshop on Disruptive Information and Communication Technologies for Innovation and Digital Transformation.

Juan Manuel Corchado, director of the BISITE Research Group, participated in the event to present the activities of the project and introduced the attendees to the main innovation and digitalization actions that are being developed in Castilla y León with the aim of boosting SMEs.

We were also honored to have Beatriz Casado Sáez, director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Department of ICE, participate in the event. In addition, a round table between the representatives of the different companies, who presented some success stories related to digitization and how they have addressed the digital transformation in their field of action.

The round table was integrated by; Juan Manuel Corchado director of BISITE; David García Ricote, head of Information Systems CIO – IT/OT Manager at Grupo Tejedor Lázaro; Oscar Puche, director of Development, Finance and HR at BEHER; Isabel Grondona España, head of R&D&i at Mirat Fertilizantes; Pablo Pardo Sánchez, CEO of the company Exobrain, and Marta Sánchez, director of Expansion at Talleres Alumisan.

The meeting proceeded with different technology-related presentations made by the representatives of the papers selected by the project coordinators.

Final meeting of the DISRUPTIVE project

The activities continued the next day at the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Valladolid (UVA), where the fourth and final progress meeting of the DISRUPTIVE project was held.

In this last meeting, the progress made by each of the partners was presented and it was analyzed whether the set objectives had been met.
