The European Commissioner for Innovation Mariya Gabriel highlights in her interview in the February issue of Vanity Fair Spain her visit to Salamanca and the BISITE Research Group

The February issue of Vanity Fair Spain includes an interview with the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, head of the initiative to make 2022 the European Year of Youth. During the interview, the Bulgarian delegate highlighted that her inspiration comes from actions such as her trip to Spain, where she recalls her visits to both Madrid and Salamanca, where she attended Startup Olé and visited the facilities of the University’s BISITE Research Group

As Gabriel highlights in the interview, “Europe needs the vision, commitment and participation of young people to build a better future”. At the BISITE Research Group or international fairs such as Startup Olé, we are firmly committed to promoting talent, that is why we do not stay aloof of this reality and we do everything we can to promote employment and innovation.

We welcomed the Commissioner at BISITE’s facilities and showed her all the talent and projects that are emerging in the European digital ecosystem and that are being developed by our partners, such as DIGIS3, a digital innovation hub that aspires to be the regional reference in innovation and which is  by the AIR Institute. We also had the opportunity to show her other projects based on artificial intelligence such as Smart Sea.

The commissioner also pointed out other issues on which we are working, such as the disparity in Internet access, mental health care, bullying and domestic violence or the “green future” of Europe.
