Air Institute participates in an initiative to turn Salamanca into a driver of employment and economy

Salamanca makes its biggest investment ever in the development of its economy and job market, amounting to 67.4 million euros. During a ceremony held by the President of the Junta of Castile and León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco; the Mayor of Salamanca, Carlos García Carbayo; the Rector of the University, Ricardo Rivero; and the President of the Provincial Council, Javier Iglesias, we learned about the impact of this initiative on the region.

The agreement signed today confirms the commitment of our institutions to foster programs and activities intended to position Salamanca and its outskirts as a regional capital that is shaping its future according to its strategic location in Castile and Leon and its long-standing role as center of knowledge, given the presence of two internationally renowned universities.

The importance of training in technology

The Air Institute and the IoT European Digital Innovation Hub will coordinate, along with other entities, the extension of the processes of research, innovation and technology transfer to the business sectors in which the town generates value and high-quality employment.

To ensure the success of technological projects, it is necessary to have specialized professionals, hence the importance of creating training adapted to today’s society. The C1b3rWall Academy program organized by the National Police, together with the BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca and the AIR Institute, has been created in response to the demand for specialists in technology, capable of planning and executing innovative projects.
