BIOTC 2021: IoT and Blockchain for the development of our cities

I had the pleasure of delivering the opening lecture at the Blockchain and Internet of Things Conference (BIOTC 2021), organized by the ACM in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which took place from July 8 to 10, 2021.

During my speech I talked about how IoT and Blockchain can improve the development of our cities. In a country like Vietnam, where the population growth rate is high, with a boiling economy and with big cities like Ho Chi Minh City, the concepts applied in the creation of smart cities can improve sustainability, traffic, security or tourism.

We have reviewed several use cases and their application, and, in addition, we have analyzed several tools that can significantly improve the management of data, knowledge and information.

This conference reminded me of the wonderful time I had during my last trip to Vietnam, where I also visited Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
