Miguel Ceballos, candidate for the Colombian presidential elections for the period 2022-2026, visited the BISITE Research Group laboratories today. The visit served to strengthen ties and raise future partnerships in technologies applicable to the agricultural sector.

This first meeting has allowed us to analyze several projects related to agriculture, precision livestock farming and the use of technology in the sustainable exploitation of forests, an area in which our research group has a long history and which will surely materialize soon in concrete collaborations.

This visit represents an excellent opportunity to exchange innovative ideas in technological areas and to publicize the projects we are developing in the BISITE Research Group, which could be replicated for the economic and social expansion of Colombia.

Ceballos was the High Commissioner for Peace and Vice Minister of Justice. In these positions he played an important role in the peace negotiations in Colombia. He is also closely linked to university development in the Latin American country. For example, as dean of the School of Politics at the Sergio Arboleda University in Bogota, an institution with which we have maintained a close collaboration for years.

We have also secured his participation in the C1b3rwall Academy cybersecurity project (cybersecurity training program of the National Police). He will be part of this project due to his extensive experience in this field, based on the different positions he has held in the Government of Colombia and at George Town University (USA).

Commitment to innovation and training in new technologies is a must for the development of any country.
