This year’s IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM 2021) will be held under the theme “Connecting Cultures around the Globe. This is the very first time Spain is the host of this conference, which will take place in Madrid from December 7 to 11, 2021 at IFEMA. The event brings together more than 3,000 researchers, world-renowned scientists and industry professionals from different fields, promoting innovation in every facet of communications.

IEEE GLOBECOM 2021 is one of the two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society, a global community interested in the advancement of all communications and networking technologies. The BISITE research group of the University of Salamanca together with the Carlos III University of Madrid and other national and international institutions are involved in the organization of this years’ conference, on which they have been working since 2017.

The congress offers an attractive program to professionals in the industry, with keynote lecturers and panels formed by prominent researchers, industry and government leaders, business panels and a large number of stands that will feature the most important companies in the sector. In addition, there will be a high quality technical program, with a total of 12 symposia, covering specific areas of communications, and a range of tutorials and workshops on communications.

In this regard, I invite you to submit research papers related to technical areas, such as:

  • Cognitive radio and AI-enabled networks.
  • Security in information and communications systems
  • QoS, reliability and communications modeling
  • Communications and multimedia software
  • Communication theory
  • Green communications networks and systems
  • IoT and sensor networks
  • Mobile and wireless networks

In addition, papers will be accepted in other areas of communications, such as:

  • Cloud computing, networking and storage
  • e-Health
  • Machine learning for communications
  • Quantum computing and communications
  • Social Networking
