Recruitment as we knew it a decade ago has changed significantly, the use of print-out CVs is becoming less frequent. Candidates use the online platforms or channels of a company to apply for a job. However, the Digital Transformation is taking it a step further, incorporating technologies such as Artificial Intelligence for precision in the pre-selection of candidates.

The BISITE research group is working on a project that will facilitate the screening of profiles for recruiters, by detecting communities through natural language processing (NLP). NLP is the study of the interactions between computers and human language.

At our laboratories we are working on a recommendation system based on Twitter trends, that will implement language processing and community detection algorithms, with the aim of identifying the most recommendable profiles for a specific job.

This type of tool provides a faster and more concise pre-selection process, in order to find the qualities and skills that a particular job demands. Contrary to what many people think, new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data or Deep Learning, applied to the human resources area, will not replace the work of recruiters, but they optimize the recruitment of talent to find the best candidate for our company.

No doubt, digitalisation is a great opportunity to optimize different company processes, nevertheless it is necessary to qualified staff, capable of applying these technologies and extracting the results. Our The Master’s Degree in Digital Transformation at the University of Salamanca will provide you with all the knowledge you need to successfully carry out these processes.
