Osaka Institute of Technology, founded to boost the technology industry

I have been collaborating with the Osaka Institute of Technology for years. This institute is part of a network of education centres closely linked to large multinational companies such as Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Shimano, etc. Osaka’s objective, and generally of Japan as a whole, is to facilitate the mobility of its inhabitants, which is somewhat complicated due to the high population density and the ageing population.

Improving mobility involves developing and improving the Japanese transport system. To this end, they launch many smart city project. Working on some of them has enabled us to learn about technological applications in megacities and to discover their benefits.

It has been a valuable experience to participate in some of these projects.
