Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology

Biotechnology is a science that fuses biology and technology, and has applications in a number of sectors, such as medicine, pharmaceutics and agriculture, providing solutions to different social problems.

Technologies like artificial intelligence offer the possibility of conducting research more efficiently, with data and information that humans would not be able to analyse in a short period of time. In our projects, we use tools such as AIR Core to be able to boost the development and creation of our products. This software provides systems for the capture and representation of all types of data, facilitating the application of AI and ML algorithms, and enabling us to create dashboards and add different types of graphs, reducing our development time by 80%.

Thus, new technologies are powerful tools that can be used to find solutions to specific diseases. A study conducted by Emerj in the United States revealed that the application of AI in the health sector is expected to increase by over 50% between now and 2025. This will undoubtedly allow for more precise diagnoses and for the creation of less invasive treatments, all with the aim of guaranteeing a better quality of life.

Here is a video in which I delve a little deeper into artificial intelligence, you can also see a clip of my appearance at the inauguration of the 12meses CuidándoT programme, promoted by the Salamanca Institute for Biomedical Research (IBSAL)
