Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai is home to the world’s largest building, the Burj Khalifa. However, close to it, another building is being built and its height is to surpass that of Burj Khalifa by far.  Dubai Creek Harbour is being built from scratch, it will be the central element of a new district and it promises to become the tallest building in the world.

When I was there, the foundations were already being laid and I was able to learn about the technology which is being used in its construction. Much of this technology is already available to us and some of it will soon be released. It is construction projects like this one that drive the development of new technologies.

Spain is playing a very important role in all of this! Do you know who designed this building?

Here you have some pictures of the new tower and the Burj Khalifa, whose grandeur impresses both day and night!

This building is certainly representative of the smart buildings that Smart Cities strive towards; that is why the BISITE Research Group offers a degree in the Internet of Things (IoT) and its main applications in the society.
