Marcus Weldon, president of Bell Labs and Corporate Technology Chief Officer of NOKIA, is considered one of the most influential people in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry in terms of clarity, depth and width of his vision.

I’ve had the pleasure of listening to him on two separate occasions, from him I got a greater understanding of the future of current technology, which will change our way of relating with one another in all sorts of ways, paving the way for the fourth industrial revolution.

The advances in hardware and new computation capabilities, both at the level of large systems as well as small sensors, together with the development of AI and Machine Learning algorithms, are allowing us to create incredible systems which can provide improvements at all levels.

It has been a grand experience for me to see, first-hand, Marcus’ analysis of the relation between technological advances and geopolitical movements that have been occurring in the last decades.

This has been another magnificent conference that I have enjoyed in Abu Dhabi.
