Daniel Hernández Ruipérez presented a management report , it can be found on the transparency webpage of the University of Salamanca. With this report he finalized 8 years of excellent management at the head of our prestigious University. Together with his group, of which I was a part of, he managed to recover the finances of the University, this entailed the cancelling of the historical debt that the University of Salamanca contracted years ago.
This excellent event will allow future rector teams to face important challenges without a financial loss that would in many cases limit the possibilities for action.
The report also highlighted the success of the Strategic Plan 2013-2018, as well as the “Campus Studii Salamantini”, which recognizes the University of Salamanca as a Campus of International Excellence, the activities program of the VIII Centenary and the PAIDEI Plan.
If we look at the aspect of teaching, it is worthy of mention that the staff has been sustained in spite of the crisis, there has also been a call for new posts for the next year. Also, the administration and services staff has improved with these two legislatures of the ex-rector Hernández Ruipérez.
In the last years I have worked on this field of research with a lot of joy. The 1.100 job posts created by the Scientific Park, as well as the exponential growth of the total funds of research projects are worthy of mention. In this connection, also, we should highlight the success of the Nucleus Platform, the Digital Innovation Service and the SIPPE.
It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Daniel as the vice rector for research and transfer, over the last four years. I have learned a lot and enjoyed just as much. I believe that Daniel and the rest of us, the team members, we should feel satisfied with the work we have done and the boost that we gave to the University.
