At present, cybersecurity is one of the most important issues in both the public and the private sector. In the last months, we’ve been constantly hearing of cyberattacks in the news, they entail a very high cost for many organizations. This worrying situation makes it necessary for us to participate in events and activities which intend to deal with the problems and challenges that we are currently facing.

In this regard, the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), the University of Salamanca and the Parque Científico in collaboration with Startup Olé Accelerator, have worked on organizing this Demo Day on Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation, which is part of the Entrepreneurial and Innovation Program in Castile and Leon. The event took place in the morning on the 13th of December in the Salón de Actos, situated in the Faculty of Science of the University of Salamanca.

At the event there were numerous figures, businesses and organizations that are renowned in the field of cybersecurity, as well as a group of attendees interested in this topic. Juan Manuel Romero, Director and Presenter of the Emprende program, from the 24hours channel –RTVE made an excellent master of ceremonies and was introducing the different speakers that participated in this cybersecurity-focused seminar.

It is worthy to mention the contribution of the leading figures of large organizations, such as Incibe, Newralers, Dualogy Security, Dinoflux, Telefónica Open Future, Wembley Studios, Artelnics and Startup Olé. They all provided a very interesting viewpoint on all that cybersecurity is and all that it faces at the present moment. They put our city in the center of attention of all those who see cybersecurity as a field of great importance for many public and private organizations. Cybersecurity is a field of the future and it still has a lot of potential for growth.

Without any doubt, the attendees had enjoyed a very fruitful day.
