My objective is to transform the University into a modern institution which has the necessary resources, mobility programs and financial independence.

I see being a candidate for rector of the University of Salamanca, as a continuity of my professional career. My position as vice rector allowed me to encounter structural problems in the University that must be changed. As the current member of the rectorate, I can say that at this stage we have solved problems that allowed me to get a different perspective on our institution and to understand how it should evolve into a modern University. It will be a more efficient University, with better management tools; this will allow us to work more securely and without the stress that has been felt up until now.

Since I was in the team of the present rector, some may see my candidature as a continuum, but it is not like this at all. I am very grateful to Daniel Hernández Ruipérez for trusting me as the vice rector of Research and Transfer, but we want to move towards conceptual change based on quality and improved processes. The University of Salamanca undertakes practices that we have inherited from the last century: we have to improve these aspects peacefully and gradually, and all of us have to be involved in this change.
