The ambassador of Taiwan in Spain, D.Ko Shen‐yeaw inaugurated Cultural Seminara last Thursday, which will be hels in the Faculty of Social Sciences from the 19th to the 26th of October.
The University of Salamanca is the only one in Spain to offer studies about Taiwan. This is done through a Master’s Degree in East Asian Studies that is offered by the University since the past 10 years. This is a great opportunity to learn about the wealth of Taiwan, a country full of contrasts. I have had the opportunity to go there several occasions, thanks to our collaborations with Asian universities and Asian technological companies that supply Spanish companies. The largest factories of the electronic elements that we all use on a daily basis are located in Taiwan. However, these seminars give us an opportunity to learn about other aspects of the country. Its wonderful landscapes and its long-established customs coexist perfectly with the high-tech of the 21st century.
At the inauguration of the seminars I was accompanied by the Ambassador of Taiwan in Spain, Mr. Ko Shen-yeaw, the Professor of the Master, Shiany Pérez Cheng and the Vice Dean of students, Maria Isabel Rodriguez Fidalgo.
