Cybersecurity as a global challenge at the Annual Meeting of Alumni

University of Salamanca Alumni organized an Annual Meeting in Madrid with the aim of strengthening our ties. As Daniel Hernández Ruipérez said, this meeting is a fantastic opportunity to gain momentum for the celebration of the VIII Centenary.

The main event of the meeting was a colloquium on cyber-security, a highly topical issue. It was titled “We are all vulnerable: a global challenge to cyber-security”, we had the pleasure of listening to Araceli Mangas, Professor with Chair of International Law and Advisor of Alumni-USAL; Rubén Frieiro Barros, Telecommunications engineer and cybersecurity specialist; and Fernando Morón, lieutenant colonel of the Joint Command Army for Cyber Defense.

Aníbal Villalba was also present at the event, she is the Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Center, she too believes that we live in a period of continuous virtual threat, this is why the work to face and eliminate these attacks is constant.

The colloquium was led by Sergio Martín Herrera, host and director of “Los Desayunos” (Breakfasts) on TVE, and José Luis Fuentecilla, Deputy Director of Mediaset España newsletters, both are members of the managing board of Alumni-USAL.
