The University of Salamanca will give two book presentations and deliver “Leeureka” awards during the Book Fair.

The King and Queen of Spain have visited the stand that the University of Salamanca has put up for the occasion of Madrid’s Book Fair. The reason behind our presence there, is to let people know about the celebration of the VII Centenary and also to inform them of the publications of the University Editions of Salamanca.

In addition, the University of Salamanca scheduled two book presentations and the delivery of “Leeureka” awards! I Ibero-American Award for a Non-fiction Children’s Book. The first book presentation will be called “On victors and letters” (De vítores y letras) and is part of the History of the University collection. The second work will be edited on the occasion of handing over the XXV Reina Sofia Award of Ibero-American Poetry to Antonio Colinas, internationally recognized poetry award of international recognition which is granted by the University of Salamanca and the National Heritage.

This morning, at the presentation of the stand I was accompanied by the vice rector of the VIII Centenary, Mariano Esteban and the director of the University Editions of Salamanca, Eduardo Azofra. The presence of the University at the traditional Book Fair of Madrid is very important and it is one step more towards the celebration of the VIII Centenary.
