25 years in the Institute of Ibero-America

The Ibero-American Institute celebrated its 25th anniversary this weekend with a series of activities which gathered in Salamanca more than ten directors of study centers about Latin America. Working meetings, talks and dialogues about the region have been the focus of this special commemoration.

Mercedes García Montero, Director of the Ibero-American Institute of the University of Salamanca, Guillermo Mira Delli-Zotti, Professor from the University of Salamanca, Mariano Esteban de Vega, Vice rector for the Commemoration of the VIII Centenary of the University of Salamanca and Francisco Sánchez López, Deputy director of the Ibero-American Institute of the University of Salamanca, are some of the participants of this program, which I had the honor to inaugurate.

My congratulations to the first 25 years and for continuing to contribute to knowledge about Ibero-America. I encourage all of you to continue working and to promote research on Ibero-American issues, whether they be cultural, political or social.
