The University boosts research in Nanotechnology

The University of Salamanca has acquired new equipment that will help boost research in the field of Nanotechnology.

The instrument we are referring to is a Raman Spectrometer with LabRam HR Evolution, the ultimate instrument used for Raman Spectroscopy and the ICP/RIE Plasma Pro Cobra 100. This equipment will be found in the Nonoelectronics and Nonomaterials Laboratory (NANOLAB) of the USAL and will be available to all research groups interested in using them to carry out their studies.

At the presentation of these instruments I was accompanied by Julia Almeida, director of the Research Support Services (Nucleus), and the researchers from the Nanotechnology Group Mercedes Velázquez and Enrique Díez.

The purchase of the two instruments by the University has entailed an investment of more than 800.00 €. The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness/MINECO, has contributed 80% of the total sum.
