The libraries form the Faculties of Philology, Geography and History, Translation and Documentation, as well as the General History Library, have joined together in the common cause of promoting reading and creating a readers’ community.
The “Free Books” campaign is committed to spreading books and scientific journals published by the University of Salamanca, as well as promoting reading and creating a readers’ community. Four libraries have joined this goal, from the Faculties of Philology, Geography and History, Translation and Documentation, as well as General History Library. The “BookCrossing” movement seems very interesting to me and the idea of the campaign is based on it, since it provides access to books and even involves social networks. You have to choose a book, take it and share your reading experience through Twitter. I express my thanks to the directors of Salamanca University Publishing and the History Library of the University, Eduardo Azofra and Margarita Becedas, and also to Marta de la Mano, person in charge of Library Services.
