Young scientific minds in the “First Lego League”

The Scientific Park has organized one of the finals of this international tournament.

The Fonseca Guesthouse (Hospedería) of the University of Salamanca hosted this weekend the regional finals of the international tournament ‘First LEGO League`(FLL).This time, 22 teams participated, which summed up to over 200 students between the ages of 10 and 16, coming from the towns of Salamanca, Ávila, Zamora y Valladolid.

The Scientific Park has been the organizer of this trophy which tries to involve young people in solving science and research problems through the design, construction and programming of robots.

Without any doubt, this has been a great experience, because the young had to solve a real problem related to the animal kingdom, using their scientific and engineering minds. A great opportunity to show these young people’s commitment to research and science. The will of the University is to support them in a way that strengthens their interests and vocational possibilities. My heartfelt congratulations to all the participants.
