USAL researchers to lead the European HARMONY Project, endowed with a budget of 40 million Euros

Professor Jesús María Hernández of the University of  Salamanca will coordinate through the IBSAL Institute one of the largest European projects ever attained in Spain.

Finding more effective treatments for haematological tumours is the final goal of  HARMONY, a European project approved by the Initiative for Innovative Medicines (IMI2). The project will be led by two Spanish haematologists and coordinated by the Institute for Biomedical Research of Salamanca (IBSAL). Using Big Data, the researchers will attempt to draw a European map of this type of tumour, which is the fifth most frequent and the third most fatal.
