It is the largest library related event held in Spain.

Salamanca will host the International Conference on the Ecosystems of Open Knowledge, ECA 2017. Specialists from all over the world will gather at this outstanding event. It will be made possible thanks to the joint effort of members from the Library Service and the Department of Library and Information Science from the University of Salamanca.

I had the opportunity to present the Congress to be held in 2017, at the annual Assembly of the Spanish Academic Libraries Network (REBIUN), sector of libraries of the CRUE which integrates all public and private Spanish Universities. ECA 2017 has emerged as a congress holder which allows for different academic events to take place. They are normally held independently, however, this time they will come together in order to analyse open knowledge from different perspectives. Library professionals, specialists in resources and open data, repository managers and researchers from national and international centres will gather in Salamanca to discuss the developments and tendencies of open information. The University of Salamanca is a national and international leader in the field of open knowledge.
