Drones used to document carboniferous forest in 3D

The University of Salamanca has virtually preserved the Alejico forest, a group of petrified trees dating more than 300 million years located in Sabero (Leon).

Researchers from the University of Salamanca have used drones to document the carboniferous forest of Alejico, located in the province of Sabero (Leon) in 3D. This work, of exceptional value for the preservation of this geological heritage, a group of petrified trees dating over 300 million years, was published in the international scientific journal Geoheritage.
