The University triples aid received in the call for “Collaboration Challenge”

The Ministry of Economy will grant 5 million euros to Salamanca, 1.4 of which are earmarked for the academic institution.

The call for ‘Collaboration Challenge 2016’ sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness has granted financial support to seven of the 15 projects presented by the University of Salamanca. This is significant news which I previously noted in this blog and would like to reiterate with the report to this effect published by the newspaper La Gaceta.

This is without a doubt a tremendous accomplishment given the success ratio of 46.67% – overall there were 757 projects submitted to the call, of which 293 were approved. Once again this news demonstrates the advances made by our University in terms of financing, since this time around we have tripled the financial support received by the Ministry of Economy through this knowledge transfer programme. Of the 5,094,538 euros distributed to projects in Salamanca, 1.394,304 euros correspond to our University.

This indicates the Salamanca entourage is better and better at selling patents and transferring knowledge. This financial assistance will be used to finance social network and marketing projects, predictive innovation, strengthening employability, or eco-homes, among others.
