Investigating the scientific culture of Mexico

Mexican researcher Rosario Mirabal is working on a Doctorate in Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Salamanca.

Mexican researcher Rosario Mirabal is working on a Doctorate in Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Salamanca with the aim of studying the keys of scientific culture in her country, especially the culture transmitted through secondary education.  Experts in this field, and others that provide a complementary vision, can be found at the Institute of Studies of Science and Technology (eCyT).

“I’m trying to understand the scientific culture of the Mexican society through text books and surveys of public perception conducted by the Mexican government” says Mirabal. It’s not about analysing the content of the subjects, but of studying their implications.
